Amnesty International, a human rights organization, reported that numerous civilians have been slaughtered in the southwest of Tigray. According to eyewitnesses, associations allied with the ruling party in Tigray are responsible for the bloodbath. They also say that there have been dozens or even hundreds of corpses.

Amnesty explained that the people have been killed with a knife or a machete, some were chopped into pieces.

Ethiopia’s government sent military troops to Tigray, because they think the current government has done everything they could to make Ethiopia ungovernable.

“They are responsible for disputes between ethnic groups and religions”, said Prime minister Abiy Ahmed.

The blocked the streets and cut of the power supply for the people in Tigray. They also could not call anyone.

The government sent soldiers to Tigray about one week ago. Prime minister and Nobel Peace Price winner Abiy Ahmed said that the troops had conquered more area from the Liberation Front and that they are near the end. They are heading to the capital of Tigray, Mekelle. On their way to the Capital they have already conquered the second biggest city in Tigray, Adigrat.

Abiy Ahmed gave the rebels 72 hours to surrender, so that no one has to die anymore.

If they do not surrender there will be no mercy, said Nobel Peace price winner Abiy Ahmed.

The time for the Liberation Front to surrender has expired and the troops are on their way to Mekelle. Many people search for safety when the military offensive begins.

“The Liberation Front trained and supported everyone who is willing to take part in brutal and illegal actions against the Ethiopian government”, explained Ahmed.

The rebels accused that the Abiy Ahmed is illegally serving as the Prime minister, because the election for the office of the Prime minister had to be postponed because of the pandemic. They don’t accept the new government.

“In addition, we will launch missile strikes, to thwart military movements in Massawa and Asmara. We will also take every other kind of measure to prevent efforts to subjugate of Tigray. Be it in Tigray or elsewhere”, said Getachew Reda, speaker of the Liberation Front.

The rebels say that air strikes had started from the airport in Asmara. They also claimed that they had seen soldiers of Eritrea fighting side by side with Ethiopian forces.

The Liberation front attacked Asmara, the capital of Eritrea. They have launched several missiles, which were supposed to hit the airport in the city.

They are calling on the government of Eritrea to support the Ethiopian government of Eritrea in the fight against the Front.

The People’s Liberation Front ruled over Ethiopia before Abiy Ahmed founded a new party and left out the Liberation Front of the parliament. The Front ruled for 25 years over Ethiopia.

“The military escalation in Ethiopia threatens the stability of the whole country and region. I fear that this crisis will have catastrophic humanitarian consequences for the whole country”, said the European Commissioner for Crisis Management, Janez Lenarcic.

Experts are warning that the conflicts in that region will have fatal consequences for the economy and the people of Ethiopia.

Abiy Ahmed won the Nobel price because he negotiated a peace treaty with Eritrea. 20 years ago, Ethiopia and Eritrea were in war. If the Liberation Front gets the government of Eritrea to fight back, there will be war again.

The United Nations fear more than hundreds of thousands of refugees.

After the conflicts started, about 4.000 people fled to Sudan, according to the Sudanese refugee agency. About 27.000 people have already fled to Sudan since the beginning.
