Argentine football legend Maradona dead at 60

Diego Maradona, Argentine soccer star who scored “the Hand of God” goal in 1986 and led his county to that year's World Cup title has died at 60.


Maradona's spokesman, Sebastián Sanchi, said he died on 25 November of a heart attack, two weeks after being released from a hospital in Buenos Aires following surgery.

One of the most famous moments in the history of the sport came when Maradona punched the ball into England’s net during the 1986 World Cup quarterfinals.


He later before later struggled with cocaine use and obesity. His doctor is being investigated.
